Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADS)

Temporary Anchorage Devices TADSTemporary anchorage devices are small titanium screws that are placed in the bone of the upper or lower jaws. They are very tiny and can be easily placed during an office visit.

Temporary Anchorage Devices Uses

Tads serve as anchor to allow us to move a single tooth or many teeth in ways that traditional orthodontics cannot.  For example, tads may be used to intrude a tooth to allow a crown to be placed or they can be used for various types of bite corrections.  Temporary anchorage devices can be placed in a variety of different sites in the mouth.  Helping to provide Orthodontists with an effective and quick treatment for a full range of cases.

Temporary Anchorage Devices Treatment

Typically, temporary anchorage devices are only used for a short period of time during orthodontic treatment. There is little or no discomfort when a temporary anchorage device is placed.  They are easily cared for while in your mouth through routine brushing. When they are no longer needed, they are removed and the site is usually fully healed in a couple of days.
